The whole Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, Colin Powell Thing
What's with all this talk and trashing of Rush Limbaugh.. I think that he has been one of the most knowledgeable and articulate conservative spokesmen for the Conservative party of our time.
As is Newt Gingrich, it is too bad that he was demonized out of active political life. He would have made an excellent choice for President.
As for Colin Powell, I think it's a race/brotherhood thing with him. He is a very good bureaucrat but a lousy politician. We want to give him more qualities than he has because he is basically a good man. But, in the end, he's going to see that Obama is the wrong horse. He might do much better to listen to Rush Limbaugh once in a while. People know a turncoat when they see one and Powell certainly is one. He talked a good game for a while, but when it was time to show his true colors, they were not red, white and blue. As they say, A mind is terrible thing to waste.
What I love about Dick Cheney, is that he calls em as he see's em. And he's not afraid to say what's on his mind.
In my book, voting for a Democrat for President and trying to ingratiate yourself with the mainstream media by savaging the conservative movement don't fly.
Powell has crossed both those lines and while he's welcome to vote Republican, I don't give a d*mn what he thinks about politics.

Couldn't agree more. I've always liked Rush and when you listen to him closely and understand the thoughts behind what he says, he really doesn't say anything that's controversial.
I also agree that Newt would make a great president. That guy us uber-intelligent. He doesn't get the credit he deserves, largely because he is a true ideological conservative and not just a party hack.
TC and you, are right..I don't listen much to Rush because someone else we like is on at the same time, but when I do listen, he's so right on so many issues. As for his being outrageous? Wanda Sykes hopes he loses a kidney, why doesn't the Left find THAT outrageous? And look how they misrepresent him....the Left says HE HOPES THE COUNTRY FAILS. NEVER did he say that, imagine? (but Americans HEAR the media)
This is all about the Left's steady insult of anything Conservative...CONSTANT mocking.
Today, there's a hit piece on why there aren't more Republican women in congress on Yahoo's Home page...One sentence in the Yahoo piece says "republican women are nudged by their GOP colleagues to get up close so the media will see women there".
get it? Typical, drip, drip, drip...slam the conservatives, and OH, is it working.
I also couldn't agree with you more on everything you stated!!
I also would love to see Newt run & he would make a great president, however unfortunately running in politics is now more like a popularity contest & so much "soft politics" is involved. I don't if America could get past the "looks & the youth & popularity, etc" to really understand who would actually make a great president. I'm glad Newt is still involved with trying to find solutions for America even though he is not congress anymore.
Sarg, you are so on target. Powell should retire/retire!!! He is losing the respect people once had for him. When he started fawning over "the one". I say it's time to change parties and stop pretending to be something he's not. Chaney is gret and always was.....Whereas, Rummy was full of himself, not that he wasn't intelligent,,,but........stay well....
Good post, Master Sgt! Keep em coming. Defend America, restore old values, protect our children.
