After emerging from a basketball game with a split and swollen lip on Friday, Barack Obama was given 12 stitches by a White House doctor. But Mr Obama's injury...was superficial and compared to the body blow he is expecting at the hand of Wikileaks. The ramifications for Mr Obama could be enormous. With his popularity flagging at home, one of his remaining political strengths has been his high standing abroad - assiduously cultivated in a series of speeches in which he apologized for past US actions and promised a kinder, gentler America.

Something tells me that strange things are happening here. I think that there is much more here then what meets the eye.

It doesn’t seem as if it was.
Fresh off of the defeat the democrats took on November the 2nd, having lost the Congress along with the Wicked Witch who ruled it, Mr. Obama was handed another major set back. It looked as if Obama has lost all the respect and luster that he commanded only a year or two ago.
So I guess this trip can be chalked up with Obama’s trip to pitch for the Olympics in Copenhagen.
But what the hell, it’s only money.

My Message To The Obama’s And Other Liberal Socialist’s

I may not have all the answers but I know what I want and I want to say how I feel. But, I can be socially active AND voice my opinion on a site. These two don't have to be mutually exclusive. I think it is our Constitutional duty to voice our opinions. I didn't say I had all the answers, but I am not blaming anyone who isn’t here anymore as the Liberals are blaming George Bush. Obama is the man now so he has to answer to all the problems we have..
That being said, let me say this. Conservatives are called many names by the left and the uninformed. The favorites are "Nazi," "fascist," "racist," "bigot," "alarmist," "neo-con," "war mongers," “Tea-baggers,” "homophobe": you name it, we've been called it. I take those names in stride knowing full well that the historical knowledge necessary to use big words like "Nazi" and "fascist" are beyond the mental capabilities of 97.4% of libs. When they put down their coloring books and crayons, and turn off Air America or The Teletubbies, they tend to whine and whine and whine, get in touch with their feelings, eat tofu, and yell "it's not fair!" for hours on end. After all that hard work, they don't have a lot of time left to read and think and analyze -- not that they'd have the inclination to that in the first place, of course.

Real conservatives, conservatives who believe in the libertarian tenets of the Founding Fathers, believe that we the people must be protected from government. Hence, our Constitution has ten enumerated amendments that do just that: put limits on what the government cannot do to it's citizens. The Bill of Rights*, therefore, should prevent the goverment from interfering in my life, as long as I am law-abiding and I do not interfere with someone else's rights. Those same rights should be granted to businesses, as well.

A couple of days ago, a news story appeared that explained that the city of New York was banning trans-fats in the cooked food prepared in the 25,000+ eating establishments in the city. For those of you who do not know, trans-fats are the substances in fried foods that make you fat, cause high cholesterol, exacerbate global warming and promote Islamic terrorism. I read the story with interest because of something that I warned people about many years ago.
First, I couldn't care less what Michelle Obama thinks.

Second, NO government should have the right to tell us what we can or can't eat, including our children!
LONG ago, we were given something called PARENTS...who are to act as 'government' to THEIR children.
Michelle should concentrate on her own kids and leave ours alone. We parents know our kids best.
While Michelle is at it, she ought to practice what she preaches, because if she looks in a mirror she'll find she could stand to shed a few pounds herself! The best she can do is be an example in her own looks and eating habits!
I am a smoker. I smoke cigarettes and cigars. Yes, yes, I know. They are bad for me. They cause cancer, heart disease, and storms on Jupiter. Thanks for your concern, now mind your own business. It is my choice to do this, regardless of whether it is stupid or not. That, in essence, is the heart of what America is should be. I choose to smoke. In 1998, when the former Administration (in a move that would make Tony Soprano proud) began extorting money from the tobacco companies -- legal, highly regulated, tax-paying businesses -- I told anyone who would listen that if this blackmail was allowed to happen, anything the liberals wanted to regulate was fair game: fatty burgers, french fries, coffee, donuts. Because, of course, as we are all well aware, liberals know better than we do about what's good for us. "Choice" is something liberals will give you only if it's their choice. It's OK to give the "choice" to kill unborn babies, but don't you fucking dare light that cigarette! Predictably, I was called an "alarmist," among other things, and I was told that it was us, the eeeeeevvvvil right-wingers, who wanted to control the lives of Americans. As I've written before, liberals may have the monopoly on stupidity, but they don't have a grasp on irony.
Next it will be a $500 fine for anyone caught eating more than three meals a day.

So now, New York City is attacking french fries, donuts, burgers, anything containing trans-fats. Why? Well they say it's for health reasons, because "they care," but I know better. Just as in the cigarette case, it's nothing but but a cheap money-grab. Filthy greed. You know, what we conservatives are constantly accused of being. Today it's fines leveled against restaurants, tomorrow they'll tax the fatty foods. The food products will be heavily regulated, the flavor excised, and they'll be heavily taxed to boot. A few things before I write, just so that I don’t get ridiculed for being a crazy liberal: I’m not, by any means, a liberal, and I agree that the trans-fat thing is ridiculous and that it’s not going to do anything to curb obesity anyway. My father holds stock in Philip Morris, and yes, that class-action lawsuit against tobacco companies was also pretty ridiculous. The fact that these people got away with blaming some companies for their decisions is crazy.
That said, I really, really love smoking bans. I’m a nonsmoker who’s prone to colds/subsequent sinus infections, and I absolutely hated coming home from a bar in college (in Chicago pre-smoking ban) and reeking of cigarette smoke and sniffling and sneezing. I moved to northern New Jersey after college and it was SO nice to go out in NYC and not come home smelling like cigarettes. Seriously, that stuff just stuck to every piece of clothing. My hair too. It was awful. And I hated it because I was suffering the consequences of other people’s choices to smoke. My choices were: a) stay home and have no social life or b) go out with friends and get sick.
The President's Missus needs to keep her nose outta the People's business.... Plain and Simple...
Here's my message to all of you liberal lifestyle fascists: If it's really bad, then stop being hypocrites and ban them. I know that'll put a stop to the billions that enter your coffers for more mind-control of the masses with socialism and political correctness, but you'll be doing what you know deep-down is the right thing. Let ME make decisions about MYSELF as long as I'm not hurting anyone. Let me drink, let me smoke, let me gamble, et cetera. So in ending, I wish that some one would tell Michelle Obama to stop telling me what to eat and what to drink. Whether Obama is just inept or there is a plan being unfolded to fit his socialist agenda, we can see the direction we are taking. Next year, the Bush tax cuts expire and there will be a massive tax increase on the middle class as a result. It will not improve the treasury balance sheet, but it will further strangle the economy. People will have fewer free market choices for their dollars when more of them are funneled to the government. Jobs will be lost and sales will decline and all the unemployment comp entitlements will eat up the “increased” revenue.

Now we are looking at the Obama administration causing energy prices to rise. A recent report from Harvard sees $7.00 a gallon gasoline. The actual dollar amount is not the point. Energy costs affect every aspect of the economy and they are all passed on to the consumer. So, if your wallet is tight now, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Has anyone seen any talk of investigating the oil companies recently? Do they only make “obscene” profits when the Republicans are in charge? If a company has an income of $200B it ought to be making $20B in profit or it ought to reorganize.

And, as the oh-so-socialist Brits are learning, BP supports a lot of pensioners who are shareholders in their profits.

Liberals are not just liars, they are corruptocrats who sit like vultures waiting to tear their dying victims apart. When was the last time you heard of vulture opening a food pantry for the people in the hood?

China and the US Dollar

Since China and United States do so much business, China has given a lot of their money to the United States only to see later that the US government, with it’s current policies, is headed towards inflation. Obama just extended by six months a review of some 240 terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba - now just halfway finished - putting in jeopardy his campaign promise to close the U.S. military detention facility by January. The Department of Justice and Department of Defense announced that the Detention Policy Task Force will not submit its report for another six months .

Will someone please tell me how do you release a review of how dangerous the remaining prisoners are and then close the facility in just a few days? Man, that would take a tremendous number of lies and bribes to foreign states to take these dangerous terrorists. By then 0bama should be running short of lies and he's already run short of money.

What's with all this talk and trashing of Rush Limbaugh.. I think that he has been one of the most knowledgeable and articulate conservative spokesmen for the Conservative party of our time.
As is Newt Gingrich, it is too bad that he was demonized out of active political life. He would have made an excellent choice for President.
As for Colin Powell, I think it's a race/brotherhood thing with him. He is a very good bureaucrat but a lousy politician. We want to give him more qualities than he has because he is basically a good man. But, in the end, he's going to see that Obama is the wrong horse. He might do much better to listen to Rush Limbaugh once in a while. People know a turncoat when they see one and Powell certainly is one. He talked a good game for a while, but when it was time to show his true colors, they were not red, white and blue. As they say, A mind is terrible thing to waste.

What I love about Dick Cheney, is that he calls em as he see's em. And he's not afraid to say what's on his mind.

In my book, voting for a Democrat for President and trying to ingratiate yourself with the mainstream media by savaging the conservative movement don't fly.

You want to pass laws that have some broad applicability. And, as a general proposition, you don’t want to use the tax code to punish people. I think that you’ve got a pretty egregious situation here that people are understandably upset about. So, let’s see if there are ways of doing this that are both legal, that are constitutional, that uphold our basic principles of fairness, but don’t hamper us from getting the banking system back on track.

Now at first glance, that might seem to be a thoughtful answer. I'm a Vet and that's the way I feel about it. They don’t like the people who he hangs out with like former Weatherman terrorists, convicted real estate developers, and ministers who say bad things about the U.S.A.Evangelicals, still a potent voting block, are aghast at the brand of Black Liberation theology Obama listened to for twenty years. The anti-American views of Rev. Jeremiah Wright are a drag on his candidacy.
The days when the unions wielded any clout are over, but the Democrat Party which depends heavily on their money and manpower may discover on Election Day that a lot of union members will have voted for McCain. Obama simply does not resonate among working people. He lacks the common touch, if, indeed, he ever had one. Let’s also throw in the gun-owners too, 80 million of them, who did not take kindly to his “clinging to guns” remarks. There are also all those people in “fly over” America who don’t much care what those on the East and West Coast think.
There’s not much point getting into the various religious groups, but it is safe to say that Jews, traditionally Democrat, may find it difficult to vote for anyone named Barack Hussein Obama. That could cost him Florida.
Too much parsing of various ethnic, religious, and racial groups is essentially useless with the exception of Afro-Americans. They will surely vote for Obama. Not generally known, however, is that Hispanic-Americans outnumber blacks in America these days and how they will vote remains to be seen. Obama’s biggest problem is that the majority of Americans racially are white. Even Hispanics, racially, are white. Once you get by all the usual politically correct blather about race, the likelihood that whites will vote for Obama is slim to none when they get in the privacy of the voting booth. That is why John McCain, unless he selects a serial killer as his vice president running mate, is likely to be the next President of the United States of America.
As for me, I would rather vote for a winner and lose, than vote for a loser and win.

Some thoughts on 3rd Party Choices Bob Barr (former Republican) announced he would be joining a widening field of Libertarian candidates for President. Ralph Nader among others is running an Independent campaign. And Cynthia McKinney is the most well known name of a short list of Green Candidates. As did Alan Keys, and a hand full of others. None of them have a prayer of winning (despite their hokey rhetoric to the contrary), so what’s up with that?
I don't propose to provide a comprehensive nor in depth analysis of all the candidates of all the Independent and Third Party races. That may come later as the fields are winnowed down. It is important at this time however, for folks like me supporting in general the Independent movement or one of the 3rd Party platforms, to get acquainted with who the likely players are, and ask that all important question, Why should I care?
Bob Barr is trying to resurrect the far right wing base i think he would have better luck trying to resurrect Jesus, he thinks he will be a spoiler like Ross Perot. I really doubt that he gains any steam Ralph Nader is a nut that's not even woth the paper I'm printing on .

Barack Obama wants to negotiate with the terrorists. You can not negotiate with terrorists, extremists, radicals, or fanatics. I spent over 20 years in the Military and I think I know the score pretty damn well. . These terrorists do not play by the rules not by any rules. There are no rules of engagement for them. What happended at Abu Ghraib was nothing more than embarassment...there was no torture. Waterboarding is an evil necessity that must be done in order to save lives. And saving lives is what we do. Stop being such panty-waisted pansies and wake up to the world of reality. This is war, not a Sunday picnic. Our military is doing the best they can, considering the politicians tie their hands. Give them a break and support them in their endeavors.
Don't go out on the streets and embarass them. In case you don't know it, that's exactly what you do when you protest.

We do not torture because we wanted to inflict pain. In contrast, they killed because they want us to suffer. No, we do not become terrorists if we torture the terrorist to extract info to protect ourselves. Is the info reliable? Maybe, maybe not. But we can always verify. The CIA is not stupid. After 911, a lot of government agencies got blamed for not doing enough to protect our country. Well, when the memory faded, the liberal left is now saying that the government and CIA are doing too much in the name of protecting the country. Can there really be such a thing as TOO MUCH? For those who argued that they will torture us if we do the same to them, well, I say that whatever we do, torture or not, doesn’t have any effect on what they will do.

Whatever sympathy we might have had for Hillary is now entirely gone. If that’s the way she is handling a crisis with a foreign country, America doesn’t need her “services”. "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right?" Clinton said. "We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California."

Jimmy Carter said on Sunday he expects Democratic superdelegates to reveal their choice for presidential nominee soon after the final primary in June and that Hillary Clinton will then have to quit the race.
In an interview with Sky News, Carter said he did not think Clinton was achieving anything by staying in the fight.

"I think not. But of course she has the perfect right to do so," he said while attending a literary festival in Britain.

"I'm a superdelegate ... I think a lot of the superdelegates will make a decision quite, announced quite rapidly, after the final primary on June 3," he told Sky News.

"I have not yet announced publicly, but I think at that point it will be time for her to give it up," Carter said.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is seen as front-runner. He holds a nearly insurmountable lead in delegates to the party's August nominating convention after months of contests that began in January.

During Carter's presidency, 53 Americans were taken hostage by the Islamic regime in Iran and held for 444 days, while Carter stood around, impotent. It was only when Ronald Reagan had been elected did the Ayatollah finally fear the United States and release them.

During Carter's presidency, the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, allowing our Cold War nemesis to pick up a strategic asset. Once again, Carter stood around, impotent.

During Carter's presidency, double-digit inflation ran rampant. So did sky-high unemployment and rocketing interest rates. The prime rate reached 21.5% at the tail end of Carter's term, the highest under any president. The economy was in freefall. It was a stagflation-driven recession. And again, Carter stood around, impotent.

During Carter's presidency, there were tremendous oil shortages. The energy supply cratered. Once again, Carter stood around, impotent. Except for the cardigan sweater he routinely wore as a way to solve the nation's energy crisis.

During Carter's presidency, America was in such bad shape that he actually ordered the White House Christmas decorations to go dark in 1979 and 1980. Grinch!
Quite a stellar record, no? Time and again, Carter allowed America's enemies to push her around. He behaved like a coward, scared of his own shadow, and unwilling to use America's great strength to stand up to the world's bullies. Sure, he guided the final stages of the Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt. But those discussions---and the heavy diplomatic lifting---began under Richard Nixon and continued through Gerald Ford. Carter could have screwed it up, and to his credit, he didn't.
But one diplomatic success does not offset the long string of dangerous failures. "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?," Reagan famously asked during the 1980 campaign. The answer was a resounding "no," and Reagan defeated Carter in a landslide.

Carter got a lot of criticism for talking about our "national malaise." But he was right: we were in a funk. He just didn't understand that HE was the reason for the funk. It was HIS failure of leadership, HIS demonstrations of weakness, HIS impotence that led to the "malaise." He talked about it like it was somebody's else fault.

You know what they say about people who live in glass houses. This is why Carter tried to backtrack on his comments about Bush, calling them "maybe careless or misinterpreted." They were careless but they weren't misinterpreted. Those comments reflected who Carter is: petty, small-minded, dishonorable.
Bush is far from perfect, but at least he got in the fight against our enemies. He didn't always do it well, but at least he did it. Carter spent his presidency standing around, impotent.
President Carter was the perfect picture of a HYPOCRITE! While making HUMAN RIGHTS of paramount concern in foreign policy, he never met a dictator or tyrant he did not loike enough to coddle up to. There were those photos of him kissing up to Fidel Castro and Yassar Arafat. And after leaving office, his kissed up to Hugo Chavez who has assumed dictatorial power in Venezuala and is sizing private property and businesses like the Socialist dictator Mugabe did in Zimabue. He will find out that when you do what fails in other countries, you get the same outcome.

And Carter allowed our Military and intelligence services to be gutted and emasculated by spending cuts and law changes that handcuffed their operations to this day.

I’m supporting John McCain for these simple reasons.
The Republican Party is facing quite the battle in 2008. All trends were leaning Democrat up until recently. Yes up until the 2 democratic candidates began to shoot each other in the foot. And the current Republican President George Bush’s approval rating is in the toilet. We all know that. Makes no difference if we agree with that appraisal or not, facts are fats. People are frustrated with him and even the word Republican has a negative approval rating. Our party needs to unite behind a candidate that can transcend the negative view of Republicans and win back the all important independents and appeal to the crossover Democrats. We cannot be obsessed with finding the perfect candidate for our views; the past few months have shown us that it’s just not going to happen. So rather we need to look to who would bridge the partisan divide in this country and lead this country in the right direction.

John McCain is that person, not just for the Republican Party, but for the United States of America. His proven record of appealing to independents and crossover Democrats is exactly what stands out as his biggest strength.

I realize that some or maybe the correct word is “many” conservatives have a real problem with Senator McCain. There is no denying that John McCain has stood on his own at times rather than with siding with the conservative base of the party. There is also no denying he is more willing to work with Democrats then some Conservatives would like. I myself don’t know if thats really a negative thing. I would call these strengths, but some Republicans would call it his greatest weakness. But whatever. I’d like to think that those people are wrong and that John McCain is a conservative!

He has an 83% rating from the American Conservative Union and is often the biggest deficit and spending hawk in the US Senate. Some Republicans dislike him because he originally opposed the Bush Tax Cuts twice, but it was a key conservative issue that led him to oppose the cuts: there were no spending cuts to offset the tax cuts. A common conservative complaint against the Bush administration and some other Republicans is that they let spending get out of control, John McCain realized that and understood the cause for concern so he opposed the tax cuts, never mind the fact that he now says he wants to make those tax cuts permanent. John McCain is a STRONG fiscal conservative; he has never asked or received one earmark. He leads the charge against pork-barrel spending and would veto every single pork filled bill that is sent to his desk as President and make the authors famous. Ask Jack Abramoff and his cronies just how tough John McCain is on pork-barrel spending.
Ask The Bridge to Nowhere and Hillary Clinton’s would-be hippie museum just how tough John McCain is on reckless spending. This is exactly why America is worried about the economy, politicians are in Washington spending our taxpayer dollars on useless gifts to their campaign contributors and John McCain is the person who can finally stop this culture of corruption. McCain also realizes more needs to be done on the economy, that’’s why he proposes repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax , something that would save one middle class with children an average of over $2,700. McCain is also a very strong advocate for pro-growth and free-trade policies. He would give tax credits for innovation (research and development) that would keep America competitive and business-friendly.

And then there is John McCain’s weakest issue among conservatives and that just might be immigration. But I think that he has heard their message and the message of the American people and would secure the borders first and have the border state Governor’s certify that their borders are secured. Republicans need to realize however that after that is done, we need to take a realistic and humane approach to how to deal with the 12 million plus illegal immigrants in this county. John McCain’s campaign suffered greatly because of the bill that was unfairly labeled “Amnesty”. The bill was not in fact amnesty, because it required illegal immigrants to return home and pay fines, learn English, and other things to get on the path to citizenship. John McCain would deport the 2 million plus illegal immigrants that have committed crimes and make sure the borders are in fact secure before even working on the very real and complex problem of the illegal immigrants already in the country.

John McCain’s strongest issue is National Security and Foreign Affairs. He is hands down the most experienced candidate on both sides of the aisle when it comes to these issues. He was right to criticize the Rumsfeld strategy for Iraq and was the surge’s biggest supporter when it was an unpopular idea. John McCain knows just how important it is to listen to the Generals rather than play politics with our troops. His experience on foreign affairs is even greater, he’s been involved in every major national conflict since even before he was elected to Congress. We need a leader who needs no on the job training and is prepared to lead day one and keep America safe. John McCain is that leader for America and we can trust him to make the right decisions to keep this country secure from radical extremists.

John McCain is an American Hero. His days as a POW have made him into the tough character that he is today and makes him stand out amongst any of the other candidates. He takes strong positions on controversial issues like torture and earns the respect of everyone as someone who can restore the moral authority America once had around the world.

The primary will be organized at a Florida Democratic Primary Headquarters (HQ) office in Central Florida. The 50 REOs will handle local outreach and educational activity, with specific consideration given to disadvantaged communities.

Vote-by-mail (VBM) packets will be mailed to all registered Democratic voters at least two weeks prior to Election Day (likely earlier). This will be handled by a firm experienced in special elections conducted by mail. VBM packets will contain a prepaid, addressed return envelope and one ballot. The instructions will be simple and clearly printed on the ballot and envelope. All ballots and instructions will be printed in English, Spanish and Creole to comply with Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The plan can be submitted to the Justice Department for approval under Section 5.

Although VBM packets will not be forwarded, when a ballot is returned as undeliverable, a notification card will be sent to the voter’s forwarding address offering the voter the opportunity to correct their registration record and receive a new VBM packet in time for the election. The undeliverable ballots also will be recorded and stored until 21 days after the voting deadline.

If a voter does not receive a ballot or whose ballot has been damaged/lost, he or she may contact HQ or an REO to request a replacement. A voter may cast an in-person provisional ballot at a regional office if their voting eligibility cannot be confirmed.
REOs will be open every day for the two weeks leading up to the voting deadline for informational purposes, distribution of replacement ballots, in-person voting, and collection of completed ballots. REOs will have a locked ballot box and will be staffed, but votes will only be counted at HQ. Every evening, the day’s ballot box will be picked up from the REOs and transported to HQ. All ballots must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day to count.
Anyone who thinks Florida can pull this off is fooling themselves. They can't even get their regular elections right. And it's no comfort that this is their "best option." How do you verify? In the Ohio debate earlier this week when he was asked if he accepted the support of Louis Farrakhan. Obama looked like a Deer in the headlights.
Obama could have answered the question directly, starting with the simple word, “No,” making clear he refused the support of an anti-Semitic demagogue like Farrakhan, but instead, even after repeated followup questions, he never said he rejected that hatemonger’s support. Guess he feared such forthrightness might cost him a vote or two.
It was not until Hillary pressed the issue and the moderator flatly asked him to, did he reject the support of Louis Farrakhan. That he came out and did so. They said Romney wants the 286 delegates he won to go to McCain, who now has 827 delegates, and is the Republican front-runner.
To clinch the Republican nomination 1,191 are needed.
An announcement is expected at 3:30 p.m. ET in Boston.
Romney dropped out of the race Feb. 7, after a poor showing on Super Tuesday. He said he pulled the plug on his Republican presidential campaign "for our party and for our country."
Continuing his campaign would have delayed the Republicans from shifting attention to the general election campaign against whichever Democrat wins the nomination of their party, he said at the time.

Romney has proven his integrity and love for this country. Please follow suit so that we can beat Obama/Clinton.

Bush who make the hard decisions and understand that sometimes war is the only way to achieve peace.
Liberals love peace, there’s no doubt about that because they’re willing to bask in it at the expense of the world’’s oppressed –– at the expense of the enslaved —— at the expense of millions of innocents dead in Cambodia and they hope next year in Iraq —— at the expense of gathering threats to our very way of life.

The stark difference in enthusiasm was noticeable even in passing. Outside the Stuart C. Siegel Center, which played host to the Jefferson-Jackson dinner, a couple hundred of Obama supporters beating drums, wearing paper Obama masks and holding giant white letters spelling Obama’s name, urged passing cars to honk. Many of them did.

Hillary Rodham Clinton last night lost ground with her core supporters of whites and women, even as she crushed rival Barack Obama among Hispanics, exit polls showed. Clinton led Obama among whites 50 percent to 44 percent - a far lower ratio than during most of the earlier primary races.
Who'd of thunk that Obama would win so many states as he has done, especially among white males? Who would have thought so many women would simply vote Hillary because she is a woman and not look and listen to her policies.
I also think that it looks like the longer this battle between Clinton and Obama goes on the more likely Obama will win. It looks like he is gaining while she is losing. He was down 20 pts and now he is neck and neck. He did very well yesterday.

German police are investigating a 29-year-old man suspected of shaving banned Nazi symbols into his dog's fur. Police in the Bavarian town of Straubing said they had found the dog with a swastika and the insignia of Hitler's elite Waffen-SS troops marked on its body. They made the discovery when the suspect's ex-girlfriend requested police help to collect her belongings from his apartment because she was afraid of him.

Democrats beat Republicans in all generic surveys and seem poised for further gains in Congress next year. A bleak political environment appears deeply anti-Republican.

I believe Republicans should push hard on her lack of experience and lack of results. An undistinguished career as a lawyer. Negative results as Arkansas education czar under then Gov Bill Clinton. Terribly negative results as health care garu under Bill. Constantly fighting personal, public scandals. Undistinguished Senate career. As Mitt Romney says, we don't need an intern in the White House!
Regardless of how hard she tries to spin her imaginary '35 years' experience', she is just not qualified, and people are getting that.

A waitress causes a stir on the political blogs. The waitress at a Maid-Rite restaurant in Iowa says she did not get a tip after serving presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat from New York. But the Clinton campaign says a $100 tip was left at the diner.
Anita Esterday, a waitress at the Maid-Rite in Toledo, Iowa, told NPR's David Greene in a report that aired on Morning Edition Thursday that "nobody got left a tip" on Oct. 8, when Clinton sat at the lunch counter and ordered up the restaurant's famous loose-meat sandwich.

Esterday served Clinton, chatted with her and later ended up as an example of a hard-working single mom in Clinton's stump speech. She told NPR she's considering voting for Clinton, but was disappointed the senator and her staff didn't make sure she got a tip for her labor.
The tip issue was a small part of an eight-minute piece about how everyday people get caught up in political campaigns. Half the story was about an incident in which another presidential candidate, Barack Obama, failed to follow up on a letter he said he might send to a supporter he met at a rally. The Obama campaign Thursday said they fired off a letter to the supporter after the story aired. But that part of the story received little mention in the news after airing Thursday.

Burried in the article was the following quote from a Clintoon staffer:

The campaign also produced photocopies of receipts showing $157.46 was paid to Maid-Rite on a VISA card on Oct. 8 for meals consumed by the candidate's entourage. The tip was supposed to have been paid in cash, and the campaign insisted such a payment was made but has declined to make available a staff member who was present at Maid-Rite and left tip money.

So I guess they expect us to believe that the staffer operating on an expense budget, put the food on a card and gratiously took a $100 out of their pocket to donate to the wait staff. Sure, that explains everything (NOT). What BS.

Voters oppose driver's licenses for illegal aliens by a nearly five-to-one margin, a new Fox 5/Washington Times/Rasmussen Reports poll finds.
As immigration politics explode into the presidential race, polls show Americans are taking a hard line on benefits for illegal aliens, including opposing driver's licenses and such taxpayer-funded benefits as scholarships at state colleges for illegal-alien students.
The new poll found 77 percent of the adults surveyed opposed making driver's licenses available to illegal aliens, while just 16 percent supported the idea.

Any Republican running for any office at any level in the US who doesn't ask his opponent outright if he/she is for or against licenses for illegals aliens is a dufus.
Think about it this way, 77 percent oppose licenses for illegals, and the OTHER 23 PERCENT who are FOR LICENSES FOR ILLEGALS are the ILLEGALS!
Any one of the major candidates could score big on this issue. Hillary Clinton has already established a beachhead on the wrong side. It’s most likely because she wants these people to get licenses and then they could ger voters registration and whop do you think they are going to vote for?..........Bingo.

It Wasn’t Hillary’s Finest Night

Front-runner Hillary Clinton finally started getting some pointed challenges from her opponents in a televised New Hampshire debate Wednesday night.

Clinton stoically ignored the swipes, but the evening marked a sharpening of the dialogue in the Democratic nominating contest. It reflects the fact her poll numbers have started to climb and if the others want any chance of overtaking her, they need to keep that lead from getting larger.

It wasn't a good night for Clinton. Her weakest moment in the debate was when she repeatedly ducked the sensitive question of just how she'd make Social Security sound and Joseph Biden pounced: "Presidents are supposed to lead," he said as he looked at her. Some of the other candidates said they'd raise the Social Security taxes paid by wealthier Americans.

She also took criticism from her opponents for voting for legislation several of them said could be interpreted as giving President Bush license to go to war with Iran.

John Edwards noted that he, like Clinton, voted for the war in Iraq and came to regret it because of how Bush used that legislation to go to war. "We learned a very different lesson," Edwards said.
Biden also said getting a health care bill approved would be more difficult for Clinton because of her failure do get it done when she was first lady and because of "a lot of the old stuff" people associate with the Clinton presidency.

He then pointedly said he was talking about "policy, policy" issues, which had the same effect of injecting former President Clinton's Oval Office dalliance with Monica Lewinsky.
Christopher Dodd was challenged on a statement he made the other day quoting Bush as saying he expected Clinton to be the Democratic nominee.
Dodd said he was just noting Bush is a bad prognosticator but it had the effect of telegraphing that Clinton might be a loser for Democrats in a national election if she is the nominee.

Some of her foes also said Clinton should have pressed harder to get a national health care bill passed in 1993.

Edwards, too, took a swipe at the Clinton era, saying the administration "gave up" on health care and instead "we got NAFTA," the North American Free Trade Agreement that is increasingly unpopular with organized labor.

Clinton's best moment came when moderator Tim Russert pointed out she disagreed with a position taken by her husband, former President Clinton, on the issue of torture.
She made clear she'd be her own boss as the nation's chief executive by replying: "Well, he's not standing here right now."
Pressed about the difference, Clinton smiled and said: "Well, I'll talk to him later."
While the evening couldn't have been pleasant for Clinton, it opened a necessary discussion Democrats must have: If they don't probe her weaknesses, the Republicans will.

I don't know how many people watched the debates last night but Hillary sold out her antiwar supporters.

Police Call O.J. a Suspect in Break-In

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 14) - Investigators questioned O.J. Simpson and named him a suspect Friday in a confrontation at a casino hotel room involving sports memorabilia. The former football star said he went to the room to retrieve property he said was stolen from him but denied breaking in.

Simpson told The Associated Press auction house owner Tom Riccio called him several weeks ago to say some collectors "have a lot of your stuff and they don't want anyone to know they are selling it."

Simpson, who was in Las Vegas for a friend's wedding, said he arranged to meet Riccio at the hotel and conducted a "sting operation."

"Everybody knows this is stolen stuff," Simpson said. "Not only wasn't there a break-in, but Riccio came to the lobby and escorted us up to the room. In any event, it's stolen stuff that's mine. Nobody was roughed up."

A message left for Riccio was not immediately returned.

Investigators were reviewing a complaint of a break-in at the hotel late Thursday night, police spokesman Jose Montoya said.

Dogs 'Neglected' at Rapper's Home
Here we go again..

Another Street Gangster who made it bigtime shows how much of a "Punk" he really is!
Police have raided the home of US rap star DMX, finding 12 apparently neglected dogs and a number of guns. The pit bulls terriers were not being fed or given water, and have been removed, police said. The bodies of three more had been buried. No arrests have been made and DMX said he had not been at the property in Arizona for at least two months.
These primitive miscreants become famous for acting and sounding like thugs and when they turn out to be thugs... people are surprised... duh!

There is no indication as to what he was doing with 12 pit bulls yet. (Guess.) IMO it's another symptom that the rap/hip-hop culture is one of hate and destruction and the thugs who adopt it contribute nothing but negatives. You tell me if i'm wrong.
Everyone knows that anyone who truly cares for and loves his/her animals doesn't go off and leave them alone with out food etc.

Maybe this punk will win an Award at the Music Award Shows, but in my opinion he should be sent to jail instead.

Staying in Iraq Is right thing to do

It is good practice to be wary of comparisons between present military conflicts with those from the past, although there are lessons to be gleaned from studying past wars.
This lesson was illustrated by recent comments made by U.S. President George W. Bush about the war in Iraq. In addressing a crowd of veterans, Bush compared the Iraq situation with the Vietnam War.
While no conflicts are ever exactly the same, Bush's general observation was correct -- although there are big differences.
Predictably, critics jumped all over Bush for the analogy. This is ironic given that for years pundits have incorrectly identified Iraq as a "Vietnam quagmire." Bush is right in saying that as in Vietnam, if the American public loses faith and their politicians abandon the mission, this will set the stage for a humanitarian catastrophe for the country and the region.
But in the case of Iraq, there is no strong nationalist figure like Ho Chi Minh or a nationalist struggle to oppose American forces. The communist forces on both sides of the Vietnamese border were successful in portraying their battle as a war for historic independence and were able to galvanize support on both sides. In the case of Iraq, Americans are dealing with a weak central government opposed by domestic opposition and foreign fighters.
The challenges are different.
He also compared Iraq to the Second World War occupations of Japan and Germany. Historians have pointed out those two societies were more homogenous and did not present the armed struggle to American presence as is happening in Iraq, although Bush was right in his point about perseverance.
While America's loss in Vietnam did not bring about the continental domino effect policy makers envisioned at the time, it allowed communist forces to tyrannize Vietnam and Cambodia. The Vietnamese loss also emboldened later authoritarian left-wing regimes in the Third World.
Without hindsight, one can predict Iranian Shiite forces -- as well as foreign fighters from Islamic countries and secular Arab countries -- will lay siege to an Iraq abandoned by American and coalition troops. It is sad to imagine Iraq becoming a failed state under al-Qaida.

I think that Michelle Obama got it right. Discourse on traditional family values is not the exclusive domain of Republicans and conservatives.
But do Republicans and other Democrats get it? Can, say, Rudy Giuliani stand toe-to-toe with Mitt Romney on family values? Can Bill Clinton, who on more than one occasion contented himself with a woman not his wife, throw jabs at Elizabeth Edwards? Will the voting public take it out on Hillary if he does? Pound for pound, is Rudy the only one who can beat Hillary? If you're
questioning the boxing metaphors, then you've not been paying close attention.
I will not be swayed by the personal attacks and mudfest to come.' They can say what they want about Rudy's 'past'. It's common knowledge, anyway. But, he's small potatoes compared to 'Hill and Bill'. He hasn't committed any murders or sold secrets to our enemies, etc., etc.

John Edwards Hits Hillary Clinton as Part of Corrupt Washington Establishment

HANOVER, N.H. —Presidential hopeful John Edwards said Thursday the Washington establishment is corrupt and suggested — without mentioning her by name — that rival Hillary Rodham Clinton has been part of that corroded system. Edwards' new stump speech, centered on a a need for change and aimed at his top two rivals.

The problem with this sort of 'attack' by Hillary's cronies is that it attempts to elevate her status. She was NOT a part of the Washington Establishment, no matter how much she and her ilk wish it were not true. She was a First Lady, and not a very good one. That's it. Her Senate seat was stolen from a more deserving New Yorker, and she's maintained it in order to circumvent the Constitution and backdoor two more Clinton terms in the Oval Office for her husband (with the assistance of the likes of Pirro and Giuliani on 'our' side shying away from challenging her Regime when they had a chance). In our zeal to keep her from succeeding at this point, it serves only HER purposes to buy into her supposed credentials. She's a wealthy, deluded Society Matron with delusions of Grandeur and a Communist agenda, and that's all she is.
